The band Fuocu was born in Cosenza in 2002, as a promoter of several workshops on the retrieval of the memory of the past and of traditional life. The band researches and reworks traditional ethno-Mediterranean sounds. That’s why in its performances modernity, traditions and experiences mix together giving a new interpretation of the whole world. Fuocu is a project of the Association “Cattivoteatro” that believes in solidarity, tolerance, multiculturalism, pacifism, ecology and tradition as the main points against the logic of consumerism. Fuocu plays ethno-Mediterranean music which is at times psychedelic and hypnotizing and at times enchanting, owing to its strong and intense nostalgic power. Soft movements alternate with jumping moments of cheerfulness. Fuocu’s music is in Calabrian dialect and is melodramatic like a soundtrack that comes up well to a film of the past.
